Life story of a well-known educationist, Dr. Musharraf Ahmed Khan โ born and brought up in a family of educationists. His father, Late Mohammed Ismail Khan, served as a professor in the Indian Army. During his service in Bengaluru, he took up the task of starting an educational institution. Dr. Musharraf Ahmed Khan was given charge of the school at a very young age and was interested in contributing to the field of education early on.
Dr. Musharraf Ahmed Khan graduated from St. Josephโs College. He pursued academic excellence and holds a Diploma in Engineering, Bachelor of Commerce, and an MBA. In 1975, he was appointed Director of Khatibi Service Society, an umbrella of Al Khateeb Group of Institutions. Under his leadership, the institution flourished, particularly its D.Ed. College (formerly known as TCH Course) and Nursery Teachers Training Course. These institutions won the His Excellency Governor Award twice and the President of India Award through their alumni.
In 1980, he founded Al-Khateeb Polytechnic College, which began with three branches โ Electronics and Communication, Civil Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering. The college received a grant-in-aid from the Karnataka Government in 2001โ02, becoming the second institution under his leadership to receive such recognition. It also hosted campus selections and recruitments across India and overseas. He was deeply committed to social service and supported several children through education.
Dr. Musharraf Ahmed Khan was honored with the Indira Gandhi Award and Rajiv Gandhi Award. In 1996, he was appointed Honorary Secretary of Al-Khateeb Institutions under Khatibi Service Society. His vision and lifelong dedication to education earned him numerous accolades for his exceptional contributions to the field.
